NEW STRATEGY OF RESEARCH, IDENTIFICATION AND EXPRESS-PROCESSING THE TRANSIENT PROCESSES OF POWERFUL SYNCHRONOUS MACHINES BASED ON THEORY OF CHANCES AND MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS ON THE RESULTS OF BENCH TESТS

Domestic standards for testing high-power synchronous machines (over 100 kVA) are at first sight methodologically impeccable but in fact have drawbacks due to the dispersion of electromagnetic time constants and the parameters of high-power synchronous machines. Therefore, these methods do not adequately reflect the transient processes under effect of different random factors and may lead to an erroneous setting of protection from emergencies of synchronous generators operating in the power networks or as part of maintenance of costly complex technological processes, and, finally, to serious consequences. This was the reason for the search of new approaches to the methods of research and identification of the transient processes of powerful synchronous machines and formed the basis for RFBR research project № 13-08-96044. In order to raise the accuracy and reliability of the results of the identification of the transient processes of powerful synchronous machines at the same time, the choice of the direction of new approaches to solving the existing problems proved to be natural through the development of probabilistic and statistical methods with the use of elements of probability theory and mathematical statistics.
