LANGUAGE SYSTEMS COMPARISON ON THE LEVEL OF COMMUNICATIVE STRUCTURE REALIZATION MEANS (RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH)

The article deals with the use of linguistic means of communicative structure organization in English and Spanish. The English language with its rigid word order is characterized by the use of phrasal accent as the main communicative centre marker. Spanish with its relatively free word order is known to use final sentence position for this purpose. The results of the experiments prove that native Spanish speakers can use both strategies (phrasal accent and word order variation) when realizing the utterance communicative structure, and phrasal accent is even used more extensively.
