Abstract

The article is devoted to the description and analysis of the weather diary filled in by an elderly resident of a Komi-Permian village at the end of the XX century. This document is written in Russian, with some occasionally used Komi-Permian words. Weather description and precipitation information made up its main content. The records reveal some of the author's ideas about the weather. The influence of the weather forecasts from the media is rather noticeable, but the elements of the folk perception of climatic phenomena can also be identified. Information about the weather is supplemented by references to holidays, folk signs, household chores, and other important events.
Thus, the document under study is multicomponent; in fact, it can be called a calendar of significant dates for the family and even the local community. Some part of the additional information of the diary is a kind of the author's toolkit for orienting in the change of seasons, stages of the year with their own weather and economic features. A number of entries preserve the memory of family and social events having a symbolic meaning for the future. The document makes it possible to consider
the influence of weather conditions on economic activity, changing work types during the year,
conditional boundaries of spatial mobility of the author and his family members.
