Fishing in ancient times played a great role in providing people with protein food. It depended on seasons less than hunting, and therefore was a more stable source of feed, largely contributing to the transition of the Perm Cis-Urals population to a settled way of life. These conclusions are received from the analysis of archaeological sources of different epochs, that help to realize both, the composition of fish obtained, and peculiarities of the fishing tackles used, and on their basis the ways of fishing in different historical periods.
