Several series of cast polyurethane and polyurethane-urea elastomers, potentially promising for use in aggressive abrasive environments, have been synthesized. The relationships between the degree of abrasive wear under dry friction conditions and such factors as the chemical structure of the materials under study, their phase state, ambient humidity, and the content of friction modifiers have been studied. An assessment was made of the possibility of predicting the abrasive wear of the materials under study using their physical and mechanical characteristics obtained during stretching. The features of the mechanism of changing the parameters of the spatial network of polyurethane and polyurethane-urea elastomers during abrasive wear were revealed. It was established that the dependence of the degree of abrasive wear of the studied elastomers on the content of hard segments
in the polymer chain had the form of a function with an extremum. Studying the effect of the content of friction modifiers on the abrasive wear of the specified elastomers made it possible to determine the optimal level of such additives in known casting compositions used in industry.
