About the Journal

Aims and scope

The journal publishes original research of scientific value in the field of continuum mechanics. The scope of the journal includes includes numerical methods for solving problems of deformable solid mechanics and fluid mechanics, related interdisciplinary problems, as well as effective applications of these methods to the study of natural and anthropogenic phenomena, technological processes, behavior of structures and facilities.

The journal highlights new computationally demanding methods and technologies, including the development of computational models of continuum media. We welcome papers focusing on various aspects of numerical methods: construction of finite-dimensional continuum analogs, application of parallel computing and neural network technologies, comparative analysis of the capabilities of freely distributed application software packages on examples of solving continuum mechanics problems.

The journal is not interested in papers with results obtained using established methods and not involving resource-intensive computations, as well as with typical use of commercial software packages.

One of the main goals of the journal is to assist in the development of new computational technologies for continuum mechanics and their implementation in everyday scientific and applied research. The journal is intended for scientific and scientific-technical workers, teachers, graduate students and students.

Open Access Policy

"Computational continuum mechanics" is an open access journal. All articles are made freely available to readers immediatly upon publication.

Our open access policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition - it means that articles have free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.

Editorial office currently does not distribute the copies of journals to the authors. Free versions of full articles are available online.
